Congressman Mark Souder spoke at the Purdue University in honor of the Visual Analytics for Command, Control and Interoperability Environments, or VACCINE Center Kickoff event on November 10, 2009.  Purdue University is the co-lead of VACCINE, which will provide the Department of Homeland Security with more cohesive data to help prevent, treat, and understand complex pandemic diseases, terrorist attacks, natural disasters, and man-made disasters.

Congressman Mark Souder toured the ITT  Fort Wayne facility with Abigail Harper who is the Deputy Assistant Administrator for Satellite Systems for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and Rob Mitrevski who is a Vice President of ITT & Director of Commercial and Space Sciences, ITT Space Systems on Monday, October 27, 2009.  The tour focused on new satellite technology ITT is researching in order to study carbon emissions.

On Tuesday, October 13 at 9 a.m., Turnstone formally announced the receipt of its U.S. Department of Education grant award for Project I CAAN. U.S. Representative Mark Souder as well as representatives from Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation joined Turnstone in the announcement of the award.  Congressman Souder is seen with Shawn Tackett and Matt Kwapis.

Project I CAAN (Inclusive Community Athletics and Activities Now), builds on Turnstone's existing programs, adaptive sports and leisure programs currently offered by the agency for people with physical disabilities. The grant award will fund project I CAAN for three years. Over 100 agencies from across the nation applied to the Department of Education/Rehabilitation Services Administration Recreational Programs funding opportunity. Turnstone is one of 10 agencies successful in receiving support.

Congressman Souder hosted a town hall listening session regarding health care at IPFW Auer Performance Hall in Fort Wayne on August 28, 2009. The listening session lasted over four hours as the Congressman listened to the concerns of all constituents at the event.  Here is one of the four lines of people waiting to voice their concerns over the proposed health care bill.

Rose Home, which is located in Syracuse, IN, was founded by Sister Rose seven years ago to help females with alcohol and drug addiction problems get back on their feet.  Congressman Souder is seen speaking to Harlan Steffen the Treasurer of Rose Home.

Congressman Mark Souder spoke at the Annual Creighton Brothers meeting on  July 18, 2009. Congressman Souder spoke on issues affecting the egg industry such as immigration and agriculture  and export laws.
